The Junkie Cross
The great Ringo Starr once said, “I've always played with other musicians. It's how I play, there's no joy for me in playing on my own, bashing away. I need a bass, a piano, guitar, whatever, and then I can play.”
This is true of just about every musician. The real magic only happens when collaborating in that instantaneous moment of creation that is playing music. When I was younger I wanted a band. I had a couple…none that lasted. As I age…I realize I wanted a collective. A group of musicians that exist on a revolving door basis. A community of musicians. The two common factors being me and our collective want and need to create amazing music. I’ve called this collective of musicians, “The Junkie Cross.” (A reference to a small section of dance in the original Marlies Yearby choreography of Rent.).
Anybody that has played in one of my pits or bands is part of this group. Any one of these musicians can show up at any show of mine. Below is the ever growing list of musicians who were, are, and will always be a part of “The Junkie Cross.”
