For 2 years Matt was seen traveling the world as the Music Director/Conductor on the 20th Anniversary tour of the Pulitzer Prize winning show RENT. After a brief hiatus he went back on the road touring RENT for its “25th Anniversary Farewell Tour.” Recently seen as the associate conductor of SUMMER - THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL (The Gateway).
Matt DeMaria is Chilean-American, award winning composer based out of Long Island. He has enjoyed many years dabbling in all facets of the arts.
From acting on stage, to composing, to directing, to orchestrating. His commitment to bringing fresh, new and original ideas to the performing arts is unequivocal. His original musical VINCENT, inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, had its New York City premier May 2023. It was nominated for 5 awards and won “Best Score” for Matt DeMaria & “Best Direction” for director Alyssa Kakis.
His orchestrations could be heard in MEDICINE THE MUSICAL which premiered off-broadway in 2018. Currently he’s in development on three new projects. THE DEATH OF THE LIVING CLUB had a one night only concert at Green Room 42 on July 29, 2023. A concept album was released April 21, 2024. He is one of the founding members of DEAD STAR THEATRE CO.
