Green Room 42 - August 29, 2022

There’s so much I could say. Last night I made my debut in NYC in a concert at the Green Room 42. It was a complete dream for me, as it mixed the two things I’ve wanted to mix for most of life. A rock concert and theater. I had a number of incredible artists that joined me. All unbelievable singers and even more incredible people. We showed off music from Vincent, The Living Club, my new upcoming album “I’m Not Wearing a Tie At All,” and more. The response from the audience was off the charts and I’m so humbled and grateful that people are enjoying the music i’ve been writing. To me there’s no greater success than bringing people some joy. We came out with the intention of punching the audience in the face with the first tune, “Lyrically Unsound.” You’ll find that track 1, side A of my upcoming album! To me that was prologue. The real show begins with Logan Farine RIPPING through “Active Mellon Collie” from Vincent. Then I got to show off “The Living Club” for the first time in its full glory. Hannah Mount & Liz Davis joined me to perform what I think of as my little tribute to Bullets-era My Chemical Romance.

Kenny Doyle and me reprised our roles from the 2021 reading of Vincent. Then we got some wild playing from the band (featuring Ben Covello on flute and Eitan Prouser shredding). Chris Russo’s voice hit the stratosphere in his wild take on “What I See.” (Another song from Vincent…this arrangement of which can be found on my upcoming album.). Hannah and Liz came back to take us through the trippy “Daijoubu” from The Living Club. Another cut from the new album (are you sick of me promoting yet?) sung by the incredible trio of Coleman, Tommy and Liam. Then I decided to read a poem by Jeff Buckley.

After a calm poem reading…only one thing to do…get some punk music going. Lily Soto & Delilah Jane Dunn came out to absolute shred some vocals on “Five to Midnight.”

Then I got to show off a song nobody had heard called “The Shape of Voice.” Aubrey Alvino came out and absolutely brought the house down. Then a nice super personal moment as Logan Marks beautiful sang with a solo piano piece called “No Life is Enough.”

Yz Jasa then came out and ripped some of the most badass vocals in a tune called “Track Star.” Then it was time for a little Lyndie Moe. “Memento Mori” is a total powerhouse, and so is Lyndie.

Then we got the act 1 finale of Vincent. First, the break up, with me and Kenny reprising our roles and Zack Abbey stepping in to give us some real Academy Is style punk. It bled right into “Human Glow” sung by Charlotte Odusanya. …let’s just say I could’ve used a cigarette after that one. Like…damn…

Our finale was the finale of The Living Club. “Here Today.” I could talk forever about this whole thing…but I gotta start working on what’s next. If you weren’t there…you missed out….

Next one…is gonna be wildly different. So if you wanna know what’s up…gotta be in the room.

There’ll be videos and more coming. This is only the beginning.
