New Site and a bunch of news!
Welcome to my newest website! Here you'll be able to find info about me, a contact form as well as upcoming shows for all those that want to keep up with my goings on.
My first leg of the US tour of RENT is coming to a close this week in Indianapolis, IN. After that I'll be back on Long Island starting right off playing drums for American Idiot at Second Stage Productions in Merrick. (I'll be conducting a few shows as well covering for the incomparable Chris Russo!) . For more info head over to https://www.2ndstageproductions.com/box-office
Next up, on July 10th, i'll be drumming at 54 Below for FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Oliver Mayes in If I Were A Front Man on July 10th at 9:30pm. Join Oliver in recounting past gigs while reflecting on his dream to be the front man of a band and his love for the rock genre in musical theatre. Featuring music from shows like Rent, Hair, and Side Show, as well as rock tunes he grew up listening to, this show will have you rocking out and (hopefully) taking shots of whiskey. Oliver puts an audience at ease with his self deprecating humor and the ability to make his talented friends belt really high. Recognized in the NYC cabaret circuit for bringing life to concerts such as the Beyond the Binary series, Seams & Songs, and Feinstein's/54 Below's Quarter Life Crisis with his artistic guidance, Oliver Mayes makes his Feinstein's/54 Below and New York City solo concert debut in If I Were A Front Man.
New York City based singer/songwriter Carl Culley serves as the Music Director. If I Were A Front Man also features performances by Gerardo Vallejo (New York Pops, Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space, and Essential Voices USA Vocalist), Stephen Velasquez (Addy & Uno Off B'way), Harleigh Ford, Lindsay Tierney, Chaz Ocasio (Heathers NY Regional Premiere), Nik Sorocenski, Danielle Dorfman (NY Fringe's #LoveStory, True Love - Music of P!nk), Tara Llewellyn (NY Fringe's #LoveStory), and Chris Traina.
Oliver Mayes in If I Were A Front Man plays Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on Tuesday, July 10th at 9:30pm. There is a $25-$60 cover charge and $25 food and beverage minimum. Tickets and information are available at www.54Below.com. Tickets on the day of performance after 4:00pm are only available by calling (646)476-3551.
Then at the very beginning of August I start back up with Rent heading over to the far east in Tokyo! See the calendar for all the dates! More to come soon!!!
